Nyjah Huston and Pamela Rosa Crowned Skateboarding Street 2019 World Champions
The 2019 Olympic qualifying season for street skateboarding wrapped up over the weekend at the World Championships in São Paulo, Brazil. Congratulations to all the athletes who skateboarded their heart out for a chance at reaching the finals and improve their opportunity to represent their home country in skateboarding’s Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Games.
At the end of it all, it was skateboarder Nyjah Huston and Pamela Rosa crowned as the 2019 World Champions. This win for Nyjah marks his third World Championship win, consecutively winning since 2017. Following behind Nyjah in second and third place was Yuto Horigome and Gustavo Ribeiro.
As for the women, Pamela Rosa captures her first World Championship win in her own home country of Brazil.
The celebration doesn’t stop there for Brazil as Rayssa Leal followed behind in second place making her first World Championship podium appearance.
Finally, last but certainly not least is 2018 defending World Champion Aori Nishimura who lands herself a spot on the podium in third place.
