At this year’s Dew Tour Long Beach event, the A.Skate Foundation held a clinic on Sunday’s contest day at our public skatepark. Pros, staff from TransWorld SKATEboarding and the skate community alike, volunteered to guide shredding paths for the children with a one-on-one skate lesson. A.Skate’s goal to allow a space for children with autism a place to socialize is a perfect match with skateboarding’s tight knit and rad community where rules and judgment do not apply. View CNN’s Great Big Story, Shredding On The Spectrum: Skateboarding As Therapy above for the untold story of the A.Skate Foundation.

The A.Skate Foundation is a non-profit organization for children with autism giving them the opportunity to participate in the society around them through skateboarding. For more info visit their site at http://www.askate.org/.
