If you don’t know Øystein Bråten by name, it’s safe to say you know him from his infamous viral flip-to-flip viral video, a video that saw him flip onto a rail and then misty-flip off. But Bråten’s antics aren’t just limited to backyard rail tricks. The Norwegian freeskier has experienced crossover success on the slopestyle scene as well, earning a bronze in last year’s X Games slopestyle. Both creative and well-balanced, Bråten is comfortable in the air, and has one of the bigger rail sliding repertoires on the competitive circuit. Bråten is good friends with longtime slopestyle competitor Andreas Hatveit, and spends most of his free time sessioning Hatveit’s one-of-a-kind backyard terrain park.
