When it comes to making a career in skateboarding, there are a few requirements. Dashawn Jordan is checking off all the boxes. First is the footwork: you have to borderline defy expectations. What’s also important is your attitude, because if people can’t stand sitting in a van with you for a month, you are not getting on the team. In these regards, Dashawn shines. A super nice dude off the board and an undeniably talented ripper when he’s on one. In 2016 Dashawn fully stepped into the spotlight. In a single year, he won Tampa Am (his second major Am win), he dropped a heavy part “Next New Wave” for The Skateboard Mag, and eventually was named to be “Year’s Best Am.” The next year he continued to step things up. After competing in the S.L.S. Pro Open to earn a permanent spot on the roster for the year, Dashawn outright won the Chicago stop as the rookie! Don’t forget, though; it’s not all about his perfect laser flips or 360 flip 5-0s. Dashawn has the kind of attitude that has him destined for a career in skateboarding.
