Sage Kotsenburg started tearing up Park City Resort at the age of five alongside his older brother Blaze. Sage, Blaze and younger sister, Kirra all ride together, while their parents serve as teacher, manager, filmer and travel agent. Competing in his first event just two years after jumping on a board, Kotsenburg entered the US Snowboard Series when he was eight and won every event he entered for the next four years. He got his first taste of prize money at the age of 11 – taking third at the Peanut Butter and Rail Jam 15 & Under Finals – and he made his debut on the US Open slopestyle course at the age of 12. With a passion for big jumps, Kotsenburg has taken the slopestyle scene by storm in the past few years, culminating in a gold medal win at the 2014 Winter Olympics, where slopestyle made it's debut. Kotsenburg rides with other up-and-coming talents Sam Hulbert, Tyler Flanagan and Eric Willett in the slopestyle world on a regular basis. But he actually prefers to ride by himself most days because he can train at his own pace and try new tricks over and over again.
