At just 19 years of age, Jossi Wells has made a quick ascent up the ladder of freeskiing. Following victories in New Zealand (his home country) and Switzerland, he came to the states in 2008 for his first X Games as a 17 year old. He promptly won silver in slopestyle. Now, not only is he a force in slope, but he is also a staple in the pipe.

In his career on the Winter Dew Tour, Jossi has finished in the top five 56% of the time including a victory at Snowbasin this January. Jossi is the oldest of 4 brothers – Byron, Beau, & Jackson – all of whom are very talented skiers in their own right. Look forward to the Wells family dominating the ski scene for years to come.

Q: I can’t break tradition. On a scale of 1-10, How awesome is the movie Face-Off?

A: Agh I have never seen that movie! Sorry! but i did used to listen to Lil’ Bow Wow’s album “Face Off”

Q from @Nike6: You got second in Breck and first in Snowbasin. What do you attribute your success to?

A: 1st and foremost, My big homie upstairs. 2nd, My family. Then last but not least all my homies that i shred with! @TJSchiller

Q: You were alive for none of the 80s. How sad is that? What do you wish you got to experience?

A: @shay_will‘s birth. & being able to claim I experienced the 80’s. & maybe Michael Jack before he went loopy.

 

Q from @thedewtour : Which freeskiers are the ones pushing you to improve right now?

A: There are a few, I’ve been skiing with @BobbyBrown9202 a lot, Kid is a machine! Also my @Nike6 team mates @TJSchiller

Q from @Ridertech: Where is your favorite place to ride?

A: In NZ it would be my home Mt. Cardrona. No place like home. & In the US it would have to be Breckenridge, Breck has it all!

 

Q: Are you more like Kiwi the fruit or Kiwi the bird?

A: Hmmm, that’s a tough one! Maybe the fruit. And that has nothing to do with roller blading. I skateboard. Ha!

A: Ooo! I would love 2 do tht if psible. I jst dn’t think I’m good enough. I would love to try out vert ramp skating one day tho

 

Q: You and your brothers are like the Baldwin’s of freeskiing. Do you guys compete in anything off the mountain?

A: Haha! We R 4 very competitive boys, So there is a good amount of drive to succeed from all of us. It’s all love with us tho!

A: Um, usually a nice skate session @ the @WoodwardCopper bowls. Then some facebookin’ and maybe a little Harmonica practice!

 

Q: Who would win in a NZ cage death match: Maximus from Gladiator or a team of Xena: Warrior Princess & Flight of the Conchords?

A: Fight of the Conchords! They’d just make some retarded song and confuse the rest of ’em! Haha (Onto fan questions)

A: Well the plan was 2 tke Byron. But he’s in X so we’ll hve 2 tlk 2 Jon bout that. He’s in X for pipe though so it might fine!

Q from @guitar_guy95: who or what first got you into skiing?

A: My parents put me on skis as soon as i could walk (18mos). They both worked at my local hill so i pretty much grew up on snow
