Snowbasin and the Winter Dew Tour Partner to Grant Wishes at the 2011 Toyota Championships

Snowbasin Resort and the Winter Dew Tour will team up to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Utah during the Toyota Championships on February 10-13, 2011. Dew Tour spectators can contribute by offering a donation for parking as well as through a text campaign during the competition. The funds raised during this event will help grant wishes of Utah children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Snowbasin and Winter Dew Tour are suggesting a $5 donation for parking at the Snowbasin Resort during the event. Those riding the shuttle buses from the WSU Dee Event Center or the South Weber Staker Parson lot to Snowbasin may also contribute by making a suggested $2 donation. Shuttle busses will arrive every 30 minutes at the designated lot locations beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday until the competition is finished. The WSU Dee Event Center is located at 3848 Harrison Boulevard in Ogden, and the Staker Parson lot is located just to the west of the UTA South Weber Park ‘n Ride at 2600 E. South Weber Drive, off of Highway 89. “Snowbasin is proud to help develop a way to give back to the community by partnering with the Make-A-Wish Foundation,” said Jason Dyer, PR and Marketing Manager for Snowbasin. “Snowbasin and Alli Sports are working together to create a green friendly event by busing patrons to the Dew Tour. In addition to helping the environment, this alliance also offers an opportunity to give back by seeking donations which will go directly to our Make-A-Wish partners.”

Snowboarders and skiers will also have the opportunity to battle and see who make the biggest difference for wish kids by participating in a texting donation campaign. At given times throughout competition snowboards and skiers will be asked to text “snowboarder” or “skier” to a 90999 to donate $5. A donation for each text will be given to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Results will be announced in minutes.
