Shaun White To Compete In Salt Lake

Shaun White has been confirmed for next month’s Dew Tour’s Toyota Challenge in Salt Lake City, and after his winning run at the Wendy’s Invitational, there’s no telling what he’s at home working on now.

White unleashed his trademark armadillo, a frontside heelflip body varial 540, in his winning run, and that trick and the combos he threw down leading up to it was unbeatable.

“My plan was to then do my hardest trick, which was the clincher that sealed the deal at the end,” White said of the armadillo.

But the veteran vert skaters will be fresh on his heels, and White was quick to point that out following his win in Portland. He even specifically referenced the stiff competition coming from Pierre Luc Gagnon.

“He’s going to go home and practice even harder and be even better at the next event, and I’m going to do the same,” White said of his plans to prepare for the Toyota Challenge. “But that’s what the excitement’s all about. All these people in the crowd want to see something go down, and the best way to get that is by putting two fierce guys against one another.”

The Dew Tour’s Toyota Challenge is Sept. 16-19 in Salt Lake City. For more information on the event, click here. To purchase tickets, click here.
