Well known for his freestyle state of flow and producing some of the most creative lines on a skateboard Oskar Rozenberg AKA Oski has been ripping around the world all summer long. At the start of 2019 contest circuit Oski placed 25th in the men’s pro park quarter-final at Dew Tour Long Beach. Although he did not let his start set him back from having the most fun he possibly could have. Nabbing this championship win marks as Oski’s second world title, with his first taking place back in 2017 at the VPS World Championships in Shanghai, China.

2018 VPS World Champion Alex Sorgente put down what was possibly one of the most technical runs that won him second place that featured a kickflip indy, crooked grind around the corner pocket, and ollie to switch crook. As for third place was filled in by Tristan Rennie who is possibly one of the most constant skaters and podium winners in the game.

Cocona Hiraki.

As for the women’s division, all three of the podium positions were covered by Japanese skateboarders. First place winner Sakura Yosozumi dropped in with a risky bigspin disaster on her first hit and other highlights include a backside 360, and a frontside blunt stall that was held long enough to make commenters Tony Hawk and Chris Cote nervous. Following in second place was 11-year-old Cocona Hiraki who completed a clean fourth and final run for a podium position. Finally, in third place came Mami Tezuka whose second run was laced with stylish feebles and back and frontside Smith grinds that sealed the deal on an all Japanese podium.

Overall, congrats to the podium winners and all the VPS finalist who made it into this year’s World Championships! We can’t wait to see what next year’s Pro Tour has in store.
