New Update on BMXer TJ Lavin

UPDATED: Monday, Oct. 24
The Dew Tour and our medical team have been in continual contact with University Medical Center regarding injured BMX athlete TJ Lavin.

TJ remains at University Medical Center and is now awake and alert and will begin rehabilitation in the coming days. Hospital officials are encouraged by recent test results and are hopeful for his recovery.

Saturday, Oct. 23
TJ Lavin’s condition has been updated from critical to serious, the Las Vegas Review Journal has reported. TJ was removed from breathing and feeding tubes Thursday, and although he has not opened his eyes, he has been able to communicate with doctors.

Wednesday, Oct. 20
TJ has experienced common setbacks but remains stabilized in the Intensive Care Unit at University Medical Center. Hospital officials are encouraged by recent test results and continue to be optimistic for his recovery.

Saturday, Oct. 16
Las Vegas-native TJ Lavin was injured Thursday night during the BMX dirt competition at the Dew Tour Championships in Vegas. He was immediately taken to the University Medical Center Hospital, where he is in the Intensive Care Unit and is currently stabilized.

As a designer for the BMX dirt course this weekend and a well-established competitor, TJ is an important member of the Dew Tour family – the Tour, athletes and action sports industry are all keeping him in our thoughts and prayers.
