My Five: Snowboard Crew 1

My Five is an Alli feature where we ask the same five questions to five different athletes and compile all the crazy answers for your reading pleasure. For this installment, we talked to snowboarders Eric Willett, Kaitlyn Farrington, JJ Thomas, Sam Hulbert and Chanelle Sladics.

Question 1: What trick were you trying the last time you had to go the hospital?

Eric Willett: It was actually a stupid one. I was trying a handplant on a wall ride and I fell and tore my tendon on my elbow and had to have surgery.

Kaitlyn Farrington: Front 3 off a jump

JJ Thomas: I was out jibbing with my friends and got buckled…

Sam Hulbert: I was doing a front 9 and blew out my knee

Chanelle Sladics: Hmmm frontside 7, over-rotated to 9, overshot the jump and herniated my L5, but still managed to take a bronze home from X Games! 🙂

 

Question 2: Who’s your favorite dead celebrity?

Eric Willett: I’ll say Bob Marley.

Kaitlyn Farrington: Michael Jackson

JJ Thomas: Bob Marley, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Garcia and Heath Ledger

Sam Hulbert: 2Pac and Biggie

Chanelle Sladics: John Lennon!

 

Question 3: What’s the one thing you can’t live without?

Eric Willett: My laptop.

Kaitlyn Farrington: My car

JJ Thomas: All the good people

Sam Hulbert: Water, duhhh

Chanelle Sladics: Music.

 

Question 4: Who do people say you look like?

Eric Willett: Everybody says I look like Shaun White.

Kaitlyn Farrington: My mom

JJ Thomas: I don’t get that one too often. I get more of “your personality reminds me so much of my friend” or something like that 

Sam Hulbert: My dog Jake

Chanelle Sladics: I get mistaken for Torah Bright here and there…

 

Question 5: Hotel or campground?

Eric Willett: Campground

Kaitlyn Farrington: Campground

JJ Thomas: Hotel!

Sam Hulbert: Depends on the weather. I like camping, but I’m kind of over it due to an Alaska camping trip. Ha ha. I’ll take the hotel.

Chanelle Sladics: If it’s cold – lodge, if it’s warm – camping!!! Love sleeping under the stars, surrounded by trees!
