My Five: Skate Crew 4

My Five is an Alli feature where we ask the same five questions to five different athletes and compile all the crazy answers for your reading pleasure. For this installment, we talked to skaters Bob Burnquist, Chaz Ortiz, Jereme Rogers, Adam Taylor and Carlos de Andrade.

Question 1: What’s the funniest movie you’ve ever seen?

Bob Burnquist: I gotta say “Meet the Fockers” was pretty funny.

Chaz Ortiz: Probably “Step Brothers.”

Jereme Rogers: Will Ferrell wins, something in his catalogue. “Talladega Nights.” “Anchorman” is up there for me.

Adam Taylor: Definitely one on top of the list would “Step Brothers”

Carlos de Andrade: “Friday” with Chris Tucker and Ice Cube. And yes, that’s a movie.

Question 2: Are you a spender or a saver?

Bob Burnquist: I’m definitely a saver

Chaz Ortiz: A little bit of both. I like to treat myself sometimes.

Jereme Rogers: I’m definitely a spender. I believe in spending money not making money. But I do respect my finances a lot more than I used to, and I will pick a penny up off the ground off the principle that I appreciate it. So I’m somewhat of a crossbreed now, like a spaver.

Adam Taylor: I’m a little bit of both. Try to keep it even. Don’t spend more than you save.

Carlos de Andrade: A saver. I’m just worried about the future, so I save as much as I can.

Question 3: If your life was a song, what would the title be?

Bob Burnquist: Let the good times roll!

Chaz Ortiz: Amazing Life

Jereme Rogers: Jesus Walks

Adam Taylor: Work Hard and Play Hard

Carlos de Andrade: I’m still alive

Question 4: Would you rather have the cover of a magazine or a banging video part?

Bob Burnquist: Video part, and then you’ll get the cover after that.

Chaz Ortiz: Video part

Jereme Rogers: Banging video part

Adam Taylor: Doing a cover of a magazine is a lot easier since you only have to shoot one photo, but a good skate part could really make you explode. So probably a good skate part would better.

Carlos de Andrade: Both of them are good, but I think a video part is better.

Question 5: Trucks tight or loose?

Bob Burnquist: In between. It depends on what I’m skating, actually.

Chaz Ortiz: Medium

Jereme Rogers: Loose

Adam Taylor: Depends what I’m riding. On vert, I ride pretty tight trucks compared to everybody else, but on street I ride medium. I don’t ride anything loose.

Carlos de Andrade: Half and half. Not too loose, not too tight.
