Freeski Results, FIS U.S. Grand Prix + FIW

Two major freeski events, the FIS (International Ski Federation) U.S. Grand Prix at Copper Mountain, Colorado and the FIW (Freeride World Tour) at Revelstoke, British Columbia, served up a ton of professional competition this past week.

The FIS U.S. Grand Prix at Copper was the first stop stateside serving as an Olympic qualifier for both halfpipe and slopestyle disciplines giving everyone their first glance at which countries to keep an eye out for in Sochi, Russia at the 2014 games.

James Woods went home with his second Olympic qualifying first place finish in slopestyle for the season, while Mike Riddle secured his second major pipe contest win of the season following his winning performance at Dew Tour.

On the Ladies side of things, it was Keri Herman riding out on top of the slopestyle competition and Maddie Bowman taking top honors in the pipe with Roz G. and Brita Sigourney rounding out the podium – the same three women that podiumed in pipe at the most recent Dew Tour stop. Check out the highlights from the halfpipe and complete results below.

Then, in the freeriding world, the FIW Revelstoke event went off over the Mac Daddy face for the first time, which provided skiers with one of the steepest faces ever competed on. For the men’s event it was Drew Tabke that was named the victor, and for the women’s competition Christine Hargin took the top spot. Check out the complete results posted to the bottom of this article with the skiers talking about the terrain of Revelstoke’s Mac Daddy directly below.
