First Day Of PWT #4 Golden in Colorado

The Junior Pro Men and Pro Men rode in Prospect Lake in Colorado Springs today for 4th stop of the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour. The weather was clear and the Rocky Mountains played a perfect backdrop to the super technical riding for the first round of the weekend.

In the Junior Pro Men division, the top 20 riders went out and rode in 5 heats with only the top 2 riders advancing. The 2nd heat brought some unreal spins, with 3 of the 4 riders in the heat doing backside 720’s off the wake. The best runs out of the day though came from Steel Lafferty, and Daniel Powers who scored a perfect 100.

The Pro Men came out right at high noon in 10 Qualifying heats. Only 20 riders would advance to the Quarters on Saturday so they were all out pumping. Local rider Tino Santori came out in his first event all season and slayed it, landing a toeside 900 and a frontside 720 but infortunately didn’t advance to Saturday. A lot of the boys were not accustomed to riding in such a high altitude, so there quite a few guys huffing and puffing after their runs.

Of all the Pro Men riders the best runs the highlights of the day were Bob Soven, Shawn Watson, and Phil Soven. The 6th heat was easily the gnarliest of the day with Aaron Rathy, Shawn Watson, and Jim LaRiche all in the same heat. All three of them killed it but it was Shawn Watson, and Jim LaRiche making it through. Stay tuned all weekend long as stop #4 of the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour hits Colorado Springs!
