Vert Ramp over the Pool and N.E.R.D Concert Highlight Weekend Lineup at First-Ever Championship Event, Oct. 14-17 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

Burr Ridge, Ill. – October 11, 2010 – The Dew Tour brings the first-ever Dew Tour Championships to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, October 14-17. The best skateboard and BMX athletes will battle it out for the coveted Dew Cup, including Shaun White, Ryan Sheckler, Paul Rodriguez, Jamie Bestwick and Brett Banasiewicz. Las Vegas local Carey Hart and Hart & Huntington will host a freestyle motocross Best Whip competition in conjunction with the Championships.

Unique to any action sport event out there, the skateboard park course will be held inside legendary concert venue, The Joint by Rogue, on Friday night with a live performance by N.E.R.D on the skate park course immediately following the finals. Saturday features Hart & Huntington’s freestyle motocross Best Whip competition, as well as the BMX park and BMX dirt finals at The Plaza. To close out the 2010 Dew Tour season, Sunday’s skateboard and BMX vert competitions will be held in the middle of the biggest pool party of the summer at the HRH Beach Club Pool. The weekend will conclude with the Dew Cup award ceremony at The Joint by Rogue on Sunday night, where 2010 champions will be honored in skateboard (park and vert) and BMX (park, vert and dirt) along with a live performance by Wavves.

Skateboard park proves to be the tightest race for the Cup this season, with only 40 points separating skateboard superstars Greg Lutzka, Chaz Ortiz, Ryan Sheckler and Paul Rodriguez. Leading the charge is Lutzka, who can potentially win his first-ever Dew Cup, with Ortiz, Sheckler and Rodriguez close behind in second, third and fourth respectively. With the level of talent competing it’s anyone’s game.

Despite Shaun White’s back-to-back Dew Tour wins in skateboard vert, Pierre Luc-Gagnon has earned enough points to hold his spot at the top of the leader board, allowing him to win it all by placing fourth or higher. But the excitement doesn’t end there. With a two point difference between vert veterans Bucky Lasek, currently seated second, and Andy Macdonald seated third, it’s going to be a tough competition until the end.

Out on the BMX dirt course, rising star Brett Banasiewicz needs a podium finish to win his first-ever Dew Cup which would make him the youngest BMX athlete to accomplish this feat. Only 30 points behind Banasiewicz is Brandon Dosch with 252 points, with Dennis Enarson in third in the overall standings. With more points on the line at the Dew Tour Championships, the race for the Dew Cup has heated up.

In BMX park, three-time Dew Cup champion, Daniel Dhers, looks to secure a win against defending Dew Cup champion, Garrett Reynolds. Dhers presently sits in first and needs a podium finish in Las Vegas to clinch the highly coveted Dew Cup. However, Reynolds still has the opportunity to come out on top, if he succeeds in battling it out against the likes of Mark Webb, who is also a contender and could potentially win his first Dew Cup.

Jamie Bestwick has the opportunity to make Dew Tour history again at the BMX vert final. If Bestwick places sixth or higher, he will be the only athlete to win every stop of the season, and the only athlete to win six consecutive Dew Cups, marking two back-to-back perfect seasons.

Aside from the skateboard and BMX competitions, Hart & Huntington and the Dew Tour are teaming up to hold the greatest freestyle motocross Best Whip competition the desert has ever seen at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Plaza on Saturday. Legendary moto rider and entrepreneur, Carey Hart, will invite the world’s best FMX and motocross riders for an evening of moto madness including Jeremy ‘Twitch’ Stenberg, Josh Hansen, Ronnie Faisst, Myles Richmond, Jarryd McNeil and Lance Coury.

In addition to world-class competitions, the four-day event will include an interactive Festival Village featuring Mountain Dew and FUEL TV’s Green Label Experience, Nike 6.0 Poolside Activation, the NERF Dart Tag World Championships, free product giveaways, demos of the latest Sony and PlayStation games and electronics and athlete autograph signings.
