Bucky Lasek Floats to Top Spot in Skate Bowl Semi-Final

The Dew Tour Beach Championships brought the bowl back to the beach of Ocean City, Maryland for another adrenaline infused transition competition full of speed lines and corner floaters!

The Skate Bowl Semi-Final consisted of 25 skaters each allowed to take four, 35-second runs and were judged on overall impression with only the top ten advancing to the final. The skaters were broken into five heats with five skaters in each heat skating in an organized jam format.

Pedro Barros

With two back-to-back wins in the bowl, all eyes were on Pedro Barros to come in with speed and aggression to take him to the top once again. However, this event would be anything but easy for Barros to take.

Bucky Lasek

If there was one person to really watch out for it was the hometown hero Bucky Lasek. Bucky also has a win under his belt in the Dew Tour bowl and is fresh off of a win at the Vans Pool Party. Bucky’s frontside rodeos and stylish backside melons reminded everyone why he is always one to watch out for.

Tom Schaar

Another transition killer to look out for in the bowl, the 13 years young Tom Schaar put on real show. Schaar was the only skater to spin a 720, his stale fishes were some of the largest airs of the day and he threw kickflip and heelflip indys back-to-back.

By the end of the semi-final it was Bucky’s score that would reign supreme allowing Bucky to drop in last for the final.

When asked about the Skate Bowl Final and his fellow competitor Barros, Bucky said “Pedro’s awesome.” Then went on to say, “Tomorrow I have vert, so bowl is going to take a back seat.” Bucky is a huge fan of skateboarding and loves every avenue of the sport and comented that “Skateboarding is done all over the world and done by different ages, everyone is very differeint in their styles and how they progress, how they appear, its like an artform.”

Don’t miss the live stream of the final this Sunday from 5:30-7pm ET, and don’t forget to check out the OGs of the sport in Legends Bowl Final live stream on Saturday from 7-8:30pm ET.
