Dew Tour weekend is all about skating—not just the best skating, but also helping to get others involved in skating as well. Lots of people come out to enjoy the action all weekend, people that range from die-hard skaters to curious newcomers.
A.Skate is one of the non-profit organizations that hangs out all weekend, and helps to share the course with kids that have Autism. Their mission statement is “Skating with kids through Acceptance, Therapy, and Education. They spend their time introducing autistic children to skateboarding—a noble pursuit that we can all agree is just plain awesome.
But a good thing got even better today, when former Pro Josh Swindell, Pro/Judge Neil Mims, and Professional Skater Josh Borden volunteered his time to help some of the kids figure out their first few pushes on skateboards. The kids that came down to Dew Tour with A.Skate left with cool new experiences, and memories that will last a lifetime. The bowl contest hasn’t even happened yet, but these three guys are already first-place skaters in my book.
