Skateboarding is in Nyjah Huston’s blood. In 2006, he was the youngest contestant to compete in the X Games at just 11 years old. With his signature dreadlocks, the pint-sized ripper wowed the skateboarding world with contest wins, banger video parts, and ender-worthy tricks before he was able to drive. By 2010, he was competing in the Street League Series and the Maloof Money Cup, two new contests that had bigger prize purses than ever before. The following year he claimed T.W.S.’s 2011 Readers’ Choice award, the Best Street award, and the Best Video Part award for Rise And Shine. Thanks to his unwavering consistency and technical prowess under pressure, in 2012, Nyjah took home the coveted Dew Cup in Street. His contest domination has earned him the title of “most prize money ever awarded a skateboarder.” Putting to rest any rumors that he was off the streets, in 2014, he dropped parts in D.C.’s Fade To Black and followed by Thrasher’s OMFG in 2015, which left jaws on the floor, racking up millions of views worldwide. More recently, Nyjah became one of the first members to be announced on Team U.S.A. in 2019, made the team again in 2020, and is planning to appear at the Summer Games in Tokyo in 2021.
