A bit of a bulldog in the bowl, Ben Hatchell has a certain way of skating things that allows him to take all types of tricks to the burliest of transitions. Ben’s specialty is padless bowl skating  and linking together tricks in contest runs thought to be reserved for mini ramps sessions video parts. Ben has seen much success on the contest scene over the many years of his career, and some of the most memorable performances have taken place in giant bowls built on beaches. In 2009, Ben took first place at the Converse Coastal Carnage event in Huntington Beach, Then in 2012 he found the third place spot on the Dew Tour Beach Championships in Ocean City. In 2013, Ben beat out a legendary lineup to take all at the inaugural Van Doren Invitational in Huntington Beach, and in 2015 he returned to top to win the event for his second time. Ben’s 2015 runs consisted of his classic tricks put down in all the right places; from the 540 that gapped the spine and a frontside feeble revert on the same wall, to a blunt kickflip on the tallest vert extension. No matter what the bowl features Ben always finds a way to link the most technical tricks during his crazy contest lines.
