Bio: Simon Dumont is one of the best and most well known skiers in the world. Simple as that. At the age of 15 he made his X Games debut. Two years later he won his first of back-to-back gold medals in the superpipe at X. A month after winning his second superpipe gold, Simon was being towed into a 100-foot jump in Park City. He hit the kicker with way too much speed and overshot the landing by 80 feet fracturing his pelvis and rupturing his spleen in the process. Despite the gruesome injuries, Simon was back skiing 2 months later and would earn a bronze medal in superpipe the following year at X. In April of 2008, Dumont set the current world record for height out of a quarterpipe when he stomped a 35.5 foot cork 900 tail grab. This weekend (March 25-27) Simon will be on the slopes at Sunday River in Maine for the second annual Dumont Cup, a pro/am comp where Simon himself designs the course.

Q: On a scale of 1-10, how awesome is the movie Face-Off?

A: 8.5, Travolta is way more bad ass in that then Hairspray.

 

Q from @Ridertech: Where is your favorite place to ski?

A: I like to ski wherever my friends are. But it is always nice to come back to my home mountain Sunday River

 

Q: You share a birthday with OJ Simpson, what gloves do you prefer to wear?

A: Always @EmpireAttire

 

Q from @ToyotaExtreme: Would you compete in the Summer Dew Tour on Rollerblades?

A: I was thinking about it then I just decided to keep on living my life. (Ed. Note: Excellent Sarah Marshall reference)

 

Q from @thedewtour: Is it more stressful participating in a competition, or running a competition?

A: I would have to say competing. I like to win so much i stress myself out.

A: The only thing that stresses me out about having a comp is the weather, because I have no control over it.

 

Q: I read somewhere you like reading the dictionary. What is your favorite word?

A: Winner

 

Q from @kenzkoff: If you could have lunch with three people (dead or alive) who would they be?

A: Tiger woods, so we can talk about chicks. Michael Jordan he is a legend. Marilyn Monroe cause she’s a burner.

 

Q: Who’s little black book has more names: Tiger Woods or @ColbyJamesWest

A: No brainer Tiger Woods.

 

Q from @ProLegendHero: What’s scarier? Staring down a 35′ 1/4 pipe or Pete O dancing shirtless?

A: Quarter pipe for sure. @PeterOlenick with his shirt off is just entertaining/funny.

 

Q from @pballin77: What was the first trick you learned that made you realize you wanted to ski for the rest of your life?

A: I think one of the first tricks I did was a 360 on a big table and was hooked.

 

Q from @thedewtour: You’ve already broken a Guinness World Record. What non-skiing record would you most like to break next?

A: Most hot dogs in 10 mins, no homo. (Ed. Note: You know how I know you’re gay? You made a french onion dip in a bread bowl)

A: I don’t know who you are talking about.. NEXT

 

Q from @Liskes: How hard was it to become a pro skier living on the east coast. I�m from the UK which has little coverage

A: I had not intentions of becoming a pro I just skied cause I loved then things kinda just fell into place.

Re: Dating Gaga: Maybe if we were the last two people alive, and there were no sheep. Are there sheep? #10ThingsIHateAboutYou

A: but now there is the Dumont cup on the east coast. I think this event is a good place to showcase east coast talent.

 

Q from @MisoThorney: What’s your favorite song to listen to during a comp?

A: I like De la soul- All good.

 

Q from @MountSnow: Congrats for repeating @mountsnow @thedewtour. Who do you think will take the Dumont Cup @sundayriver?

A: I think anyone could, there is a really deep field this year.

A: It would never happen
