By personal request, we brought in @Shay_Will, photo editor for @Freeskier magazine, to Tweet His Face Off #TYFO with us this week. In what seemed like a therapy session at times, Shay got to dish on his coworker pet peeves, his violent tendencies, Pam Beasley, and why he’s sick of Brad Pitt and George Clooney blowing up his cell. Q: You know this is coming…… On a scale of 1-10, how awesome is the movie Face-Off?
A: Face off rules. Travolta-Cage thriller is 1 of the greatest scripts of all time. I think Shakespeare ghost wrote the script.
Q: What was your “big break” that led you to @Freeskier?
A: My big break was @harvitronix (matt harvey) who gave me a chance as a budding photo/writer. I owe a lot to him & @peterolenick
Q: from @kirsteneliassen: what’s your favorite hotdog topping?
A: My favorite hot dog topping is Relish. It’s so damn tasty on a hot dog at any sporting event. Relish is a must
Q: What song do you use to pump you up while editing a column?
A: It depends. For web stuff, mellow like Andrew Bird or Arcade Fire. For Print articles, its gangster beats like The Game or Dre
Q: from @skiingrogge: Is @Shay_Will actually tan or does he just play a tan person in the magazines?
A: I’m tan thanks to the mother-country South Korea. But I’m not as tan as @JossiWells but more tan than @byronjwells
Q: Who from @Freeskier would you least want to share a cubicle with?
A: @Harvitronix smells, @Ozskier is loud & @NicoleBirkhold sings too much. I’ll go with @NicoleBirkhold, she sings too much feist
@Shay_Will (We are all fascinated by curling, but…) Q from @Preppin: when do you think freeski events will be a part of the Olympics?
A: I think in 2014. IOC and FIS see it’s legit and organizationally things are being done to get the sport ready for Sochi
Q: from @RafSelvas: which events do you recommmend I enter in order to get on the [Dew] Tour?
A: Open events, like Aspen Open and Euro Open. Try and get to @thedewtour qualifier in Dec too. Austrian Open as well.
Q: from @thedewtour: We had a different slopestyle winner at each stop. Who does the crystal ball say is on the podium next year?
A: That’s a long way away but I’d go w/ Andreas Håtveit, @BobbyBrown9202, @JossiWells . @TJSchiller & @Twallisch. Those R the guys
Q: from @Dmills3: What is better 35mm, Digital Camera, or iPhone camera?
A: They’re all good. 35mm film is a hassle though. iPhone or any digi is good because any camera is better than no camera.
Q: from @G_Wright: Do you get tired of traveling so much or is the road your home?
A: “The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.” -St. Augustine. Traveling never, ever gets old.

A: Hmm, not sure what that means, but I love Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Matthew Broderick was a tan pimp in the 80s.

A: For sure Double Orange Chicken at Panda Express. Is that even a question?

A (to @Ozskier): Of course @Oakley is 1, but I really like Orage & @ArmadaSkis outerwear too. Spyder has made big strides lately

A: Probably because certain drinking partners deserve to get stabbed with forks from time to time. Colleen [SNARF]= prime example
Q: from @chrislynn: what are your favorite types of photos? Powder Shots, Trick Shots, Candids of the Skiers…
A: I like all kinds of shots, but especially I love lifestyle shots (@nabbott shots). Lifestyle is my photo background.
Q: from @Goodlife_inc: is it true that you have a cover shot setting on your camera?
A: It’s true. I bought the camera from @Nabbott so it obviously came w/ a cover button. You can’t use it a lot though

A: I don’t wear asian fit b/c @oakley is always out of them when I ask. Only difference is it fits smart people more comfortably.

A: Probably that tan pimp asian in ABC’s Lost. Brad Pitt & George Clooney are always calling me about the role too.

A: I don’t drive much, but I suppose a nice phantom with a driver would suit me nicely. I’m more of an airplane guy.
