Taking Back Sunday To Headline Free Concert July 24 At The Dew Tour Skate Open In Boston

Taking Back Sunday, the punk-pop heavyweights and emo originators, will tear rabid fans new ear holes in Boston for FREE on the second stop of this year’s Dew Tour.

To celebrate the first ever Dew Tour stop in Beantown, rowdy Bostonian skaters and lovers of face-melting rock will be treated to the next best thing to a Red Sox game on St. Patty’s day, with the free concert going down at the Verizon Wireless music stage at City Hall Plaza on July 24 at 9:00pm

As the band tours their latest triumph of a new album, New Again, which currently sits at number 7 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, Taking Back Sunday are particularly looking forward to rocking out with the best riders in Boston and giving action-sports kids a free show, even if their ears may get as banged up as their knees.

“We’re pumped to show Boston some more love with a concert at City Hall Plaza,” said lead vocalist, Adam Lazzara. “Doing a free show is always fun for our fans, and being a part of an event that has the best skaters in the world is a nice bonus.”

Teenage headbangers Crooked X, who resurrect smoking hot power pop metal the likes of which hasn’t been heard since before they were born, will open the show with a howling, riff-crazy bang.

Tickets for the Skate Open, featuring the International Skateboarding Federation (ISF) Skateboarding World Championships, are now on sale at Ticketmaster, Ticketmaster.com and select Ticketmaster retail outlets or by phone at (800) 745-3000.
