Out and About at the Skate Open

The best skaters in the universe are here and of course, they’re going off inside the Garden. Outside, the energy is equally high in the buzzing Festival Village.

The solar gods were generous to Boston today, with the sun shining down on the intense skateboard fanatics hanging out in the village. Various sponsors have set booths and are giving out swag like its going out of style! Virtually everyone in attendance is walking around the Festival Village with their hands and/or backpacks full of stickers, hats, shades, and a bunch of signed gear!

Some of the highlights include:

Monster athlete Greg Lutzka was on hand to sign literally everything under the sun at the Toyota booth.

Nerf’s inflatable battlefield for Dart Tag. We’re talking full on teenage combat and carnage… with Nerf darts.

The folks from Matador are appropriately tossing village goers in all directions with their bull ride. Members of the Verizon Wireless crew took the bucking bronco this morning to see who was the wildest
stallion of them all.

Nike 6.0 is having a killer design contest and people are designing their own kicks!

Mountain Dew is letting YOU, the people, pick their next carbonated beverage flavor. I’m digging the Orange one. What’s your favorite?

Woodward is on hand with an impressive mini ramp and little shredders are throwing down on the minis!

Fuel TV is broadcasting live from the village and letting the kids hop in front of the camera to show their love of skateboarding to the globe!
