My Five: BMX Crew 5

My Five is an Alli feature where we ask the same five questions to five different athletes and compile all the crazy answers for your reading pleasure. For this installment, we talked to BMXers James Foster, Corey Bohan, Jorge Jovel, Dean Cueson and Cory Nastazio.

Question 1: What’s your favorite book?

James Foster: I’m reading “Blink” right now, which is really cool. The problem is, I always read books that I really like, then forget what they are. Oh, you know what? “Bringing Down the House.” It’s insane that that’s a true story.

Corey Bohan: I haven’t read it for a while, but it was a children’s book, “Where the Wild Things Are.” That’s a good one.

Jorge Jovel: My favorite book is called “The Secret.” You’ve probably heard of it.

Dean Cueson: I don’t know about books. I just read BMX magazines, really.

Cory Nastazio: Peter Pan, the one I read to my kid every night.

Question 2: What’s your pet peeve?

James Foster: Where to begin? Probably bad drivers would be at the top of the list.

Corey Bohan: Littering, and people who litter.

Jorge Jovel: If I see anything out of order, I go crazy and just start cleaning the house.

Dean Cueson: My pet peeve is probably anyone who rides BMX but doesn’t have fun doing it. At the end of the day, you’re riding BMX for a living. You’ve just got to have fun and that’s all.

Cory Nastazio: Eating food in bed. My girl eats in my bed and I hate it.

Question 3: What was your best year as a pro? Why?

James Foster: Probably 2007, I did really well that year and I won in Salt Lake City. But most years, I’ve had something that I’m really proud of, so that’s been cool.

Corey Bohan: Probably ’05 or ’06 because I had a couple big wins at X Games and then second place on the Dew Tour.

Jorge Jovel: I would say it’s this year. I moved to Woodward about three years ago, quit my job in New York and this year has just been amazing. Just riding a lot. Traveling a lot. I went to Europe and China. I’ve learned so much more just riding over the winter. I’ve had a lot of fun riding my bike.

Dean Cueson: 2010 is probably my best year because every contest I’ve ridden in so far, I’ve either qualified or made it into the top 10. That’s the best for me.

Cory Nastazio: Probably 2000-2001 and ’03-04, just as far as contest placings where I did really good, and NORA Cup, I won that two years in a row. But every year is pretty much a good one.

Question 4: What’s your all-time favorite movie?

James Foster: Either the “Matrix” or “Fight Club.”

Corey Bohan: It would have to be “The Wedding Singer”

Jorge Jovel: My all-time favorite movie is called “Goal!”

Dean Cueson: Hold on, I’ve got a few. “Stand By Me,” any Batman film – I’m really into Batman – and just any one that plays with your mind.

Cory Nastazio: “Over the Top”

Question 5: What’s your biggest fear?

James Foster: Career-ending injuries.

Corey Bohan: Drowning

Jorge Jovel: My biggest fear is to not do anything with my life

Dean Cueson: Probably being alone in the world.

Cory Nastazio: Going back to construction
