My Five: BMX Crew 1

My Five is a new Alli feature where we ask the same five questions to five different athletes and compile all the crazy answers for your reading pleasure. For this installment, we talked to BMXers Daniel Dhers, Rob Darden, Anthony Napolitan, Jay Eggleston and Garrett Reynolds.

Question 1: What trick were you trying the last time you had to go the hospital?

Daniel Dhers: There’s a couple I should have gone to the hospital for but I didn’t. Last year at an ASA contest I did a no-footed cancan to tailwhip, and I kicked the bike the wrong way. I had to go to the hospital for that one.

Rob Darden: I was trying to 360 over a rail hop in 2006 while filming for Josh Harrington’s video “End Search.” Things didn’t go so well and I ended up breaking my right wrist.

Anthony Napolitan: It was a tailwhip, and it was actually at the first stop of the 2007 Dew Tour in Baltimore.

Jay Eggleston: 360 Tailwhip.

Garrett Reynolds: Icepick grind. It was in Atlanta. I separated my shoulder.

Question 2: Who’s your favorite dead celebrity?

Daniel Dhers: Michael Jackson.

Rob Darden: Colin Winklemann

Anthony Napolitan: 2pac

Jay Eggleston: Joe Strummer

Garrett Reynolds: Chris Farley

Question 3: What’s the one thing you can’t live without?

Daniel Dhers: Technology I would say, even though it drives me crazy. Cell phones and computers. The one thing I couldn’t go without is Internet. It puts me in a really bad mood when I don’t have it.

Rob Darden: iPhone

Anthony Napolitan: Ummmm duh my bicycle!!! And maybe food.

Jay Eggleston: The Internet

Garrett Reynolds: Music… and my bike.

Question 4: Who do people say you look like?

Daniel Dhers: Steven Tyler or Mick Jagger for some odd reason.

Rob Darden: I’m not sure about that one.

Anthony Napolitan: I’ve heard Ashton Kutcher and Wayne Gretsky

Jay Eggleston: My dad or maybe Skeletor.

Garrett Reynolds: Probably Butthead.

Question 5: Hotel or campground?

Daniel Dhers: Hotel all day.

Rob Darden: Campground.

Anthony Napolitan: If I’m in physical pain a hotel. If I’m 100%, I’m into some camping.

Jay Eggleston: Campground, but better yet, backcountry campsite.

Garrett Reynolds: Hotel. Well, actually I don’t know. Campground is pretty sick too. Probably go with the hotel though, I don’t like bugs that much.
