Massive Amplitude Rewards Tai Barrymore in Men’s Freeski Pipe Semi-Finals

Switch tricks, big spins and massive amplitude were the norm in Friday’s highly competitive men’s freeski pipe Semi-Finals at the Pantech Invitational. The one guy that went the biggest by far was 19-year-old Tai Barrymore. His amplitude and level of difficulty with his tricks earned him a score of 87.50 in his first run to finish on top. He started off with a huge left 9 tail grab to alley-oop double flat to left 5 truck, ending with a right 9 off mute to huge left 9 mute. Gus Kenworthy finished second with 82.75 and Torin Yater-Wallace was third with 81.50.

The night contest went down under the lights at Killington Resort in Vermont. The top nine skiers advance to Saturday’s Final. Check back for full recap and photos.
