Mark Webb Wins PlayStation Moment Vote For Portland

The Dew Tour, the world’s premier season-long action sports tour, today announced BMX sensation, Mark Webb, as the winner of the PlayStation® Pro Moment Award from the third stop of the 2009 season, the Wendy’s Invitational. The event took place August 13 – 16 at the Rose Quarter in Portland. The PlayStation® Pro Moment is awarded to the athlete at each Dew Tour stop who landed the best trick of the event, as voted by fans.

Voting began Monday, August 17, the day after competitions ended. Fans could view the video nominations at allisports.com/playstation or on V CAST Videos from Verizon Wireless in the Sports channel folder and on the PlayStation®Network. Fans could either vote on allisports.com, or by texting “VOTE” to 3331 from their Verizon Wireless phones.

Voters selected Great Britain-native, Mark Webb, for his impressive decade to 360 during the BMX park final in Portland. Webb faced stiff competition for the PlayStation® Pro Moment Award, and fellow BMX rider, Ryan Nyquist, came in a close second for his 2 ½ barspin flip during the BMX dirt final. Bucky Lasek, Chaz Ortiz and Chad Kagy were among the action sport superstars nominated for the award.

“It’s really cool that the fans chose me for this award,” said Webb. “The fact that it came from their votes makes it even better and I’m stoked.”

Webb wins $5,000, a PLAYSTATION®3 system and a library of games to reward his skills.
