Justin Morgan and Spencer O’Brien Take Top Spots in Snowboard Slope Prelims

Canada’s Spencer O’Brien took top honors at the women’s snowboard slopestyle prelim, stomping the competition with a winning score of 93.17. Janna Weatherby of Big Bear, Calif. secured her spot in Sunday’s final be earning a second place score of 89.83 and Jordie Karlinski of Snowmass Village, Colo. followed behind in third with an 85.33.

The top five finishers will advance to Sunday’s Women’s Snowboard Slopestyle Finals joining Jamie Anderson who is currently first in the Dew Cup standings.

5. Rebecca Torr – 76.83

Nailing a smooth and stylish run during the men’s snowboard slopestyle prelim, Justin Morgan of Ballston Lake, N.Y. landed at the top of the leader board with a first-place score of 93.83. Breckenridge, Colorado-native Eric Willet trailed behind in second with an 89.83 and Norway’s Torgeir Bergrem earned a third-place score of 86.17.

The top 10 finishers will advance to Sunday’s Men’s Snowboard Slopestyle Finals joining Torstein Horgmo and Mark McMorris who are first and second respectively in the Dew Cup standings.
