Freeski Slopestyle Men’s Prelim Results

By Mike Rogge

The Mens Slopestyle Prelims began at 9:30 today and boy oh boy, did it go down with every competitor bringing their absolute best! With the course in pristine condition and the weather being supremely cooperative (sunshine! No wind!), skiers attacked the course with double flips, impressive rails skills, and right and left side spins.

JF Houle secured the first-place heading into today’s Final with a score of 86.67. Per-Kristian Hunder trailed in second by four points, and Nick Martini landed in third-place with a 78.33.

Highlights ensue: Jon Olsson stomped his double cork 12 and Nick Martini landed a switch 10 that can only be described as be-you-tee-FUL!

Missing the finals were big names like TJ Schiller (10th), Simon Dumont (12th), and Colby West (25th), though all three threw down impressive runs. Dumont stomped a right 9 and Colby just missed his switch double flip. Let’s just say the remainder of the Men’s Ski Slope field is looking to take down pre-qualifiers Bobby Brown, Jossi Wells, and Henrik Harlaut in the Final later this afternoon.
