First East Coast Maloof Money Cup Goes Down This Weekend in NYC

The concrete has been poured in Queens, NY and Chris Cole and the top street skaters are rolling into town for the East Coast’s first Maloof Money Cup event. After two successful years in Orange County, CA, Maloof has expanded to NYC with a street-only contest taking place this weekend.

The brand-new course was unveiled today and it will be donated to NYC post-event. Once the pros are done with it and the $250,000 prize purse has been doled out it will become the Flushing Meadows Skatepark.

Dennis Busenitz, Chris Cole, Billy Marks, Anthony Van Engelen and Chris Pfanner were practicing on the course today, getting ready for eight rounds of prelims tomorrow and Sunday’s final.

On Sunday, The World Industries Amateur Competition is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (12 skaters, 4 jams, 7-minute jams) followed by the Volcom Street Pro Finals and Awards from 3 to 5 p.m. (12 skaters, 3 jams, 7-minute jams)
