Fan-Favorite FMX Will Close out Wendy’s Invitational

After much anticipation, the Wendy’s Invitational marks the return of FMX to the 2010 Dew Tour. Six of the top FMX riders in the world – including this year’s X Games Step Up gold and silver medalists Matt Buyten and Ronnie Renner – will face off this Sunday from 5-6pm in a pair of competitions designed to showcase their talent and thrill the fans at the same time.

Aside from Buyten and Renner, Jeff Kargola, Myles Richmond, Dustin Miller and Chuck Carothers will all close out the 2010 Wendy’s Invitational by competing in Step Up and Best Whip events.

In Step Up, each rider will be given two chances to clear the bar, which will get progressively higher as the rounds go on and riders are knocked out one by one. The last rider to eliminate all competitors and clear the bar at its highest setting wins.

Immediately following Step Up, all six riders will take part in a Best Whip competition. Without any tricks or inverts, the Best Whip competition is designed to showcase bike control, and the riders will all compete in a five-minute jam session, with the winner being determined by a panel of judges and by the fans in attendance.

It’s going to be a full hour of some of the best FMX riding you’ll ever see, so make sure to head down to the Wendy’s Invitational on Sunday from 5-6pm.

Tickets are still available by clicking here. Make sure you don’t miss a minute of the action here in Portland!
