Dew Cup Champs lead Snowboard Slopestyle Prelims

Starting off the morning with bouts of both sunshine and snow, the field of females took to the snowboard slope course during Winter Dew Tour prelims and threw down for a spot in the finals. It was a close finish, but in the end 2009-10 Dew Cup Champion Spencer O’Brien took the top spot with a score of 78.50 after a switch backside 180 into a straight air, and a backside 360 melon grab. Her top score held throughout the entire contest, and she will join pre-qualified finalist and current Dew Cup champ Jamie Anderson in the finals on Sunday.

The course was fast during men’s snowboard slopestyle prelims, and Sage Kotsenburg watched his competitors ride with mixed results until it was his turn to shred the course at Killington. He threw down a clean run with cab 9 into a front 10, ending with a backside 10 double cork. When it came down to it, the teen held his top spot throughout the entire second heat, and maintained his dominant lead with a score of 92.50. He will also compete in the finals this Sunday at 2:30pm EST.
