David Wise Wins Men’s Freeski Pipe Semis

The men’s freeski comps kicked off with Friday’s pipe Semi-Finals at the Dew Tour’s Toyota Championships. David Wise set the bar incredibly high with his first-run score of 95.00. Wise threw a switch left 720, right 900 tail to left 900 nosegrab, alley oop flat 540 tail capped with a huge left double cork 1260 tailgrab with undeniable amplitude. His score held on until the end of the competition and Wise took the win at Utah’s Snowbasin Resort. The next closest finishers were Thomas Krief with an 89.00 and Gus Kenworthy with an 88.00.

The top 10 from the field of 21 will advance to Saturday’s Final, where they will meet up with the top two overall, Kevin Rolland and Torin Yater-Wallace. Rolland will be fighting to defend his Dew Cup, while 16-year-old Yater-Wallace will be answering back in hopes of winning his first Cup.
