Community Coming Together for TJ Lavin

The Vanity Nightclub in Vegas will be rocking out Friday night to support BMX’ers TJ Lavin and Ty Pinney. UFC President Dana White will host the event and celebrity DJs will keep the tunes flowing. But the real reason this is all coming together is to support Pinney and Lavin, who both injured themselves riding in November, and all proceeds from the event go to them.

Lavin took a fall competing at the Dew Tour Championships in October, and it’s great news to hear that he is now in outpatient therapy. He gave a call earlier today to the Alli offices to say thanks for the support and to give an update on how things are going.

Another highlight of the evening is a silent auction, and Alli has donated an all-access Winter Dew Tour weekend getaway to the cause. The prize package includes airfare and accommodations for two to Salt Lake City, a VIP package to the event and to a Utah Jazz game, and more.

NBC donated an all-access Lake Tahoe Weekend at the American Century Championship that includes airfare and accommodation for two to Reno, five nights at Harvey’s Resort and a VIP package to the American Century Classic golf event.

A few weeks ago, Lavin checked in with all his supporters via twitter to make the following post.

“Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. I have a while but I’ll make it. Thoughts go out to Ty Pinney hang in there brother.”

Just one day before Lavin’s accident, Pinney was seriously injured in a bike accident at Lavin’s home in Las Vegas. While both TJ and Ty continue to progress on a daily basis, there is still a long, difficult road to recovery ahead, so come support the guys at Vanity. Doors open at 10:30 p.m. and admission is $25, and all proceeds go to the recovery fund.
