The first chair at Breckenridge Ski Resort went up at 9 a.m. this morning, which means that the first stop of the 2010-11 Winter Dew Tour is just around the corner. It’s been a long off-season, but Breck’s opening day brings us one step closer to the Nike 6.0 Open, Dec. 16-19.
Breckenridge has a ton of new features and attractions this season, but the biggest one, and the one that will be on full display at the Winter Dew Tour, is the new 22-foot superpipe. Read all about it below.
THE NEW 22-FOOT FREEWAY SUPERPIPE
Breck will solidify its place as the very pinnacle of freestyle snowboarding and skiing this year with the unveiling of a brand new, Olympic-sized 22-foot superpipe, which will anchor the resort’s award-winning Freeway Terrain Park on Peak 8. Breckenridge, the first-ever resort to have a permanent halfpipe, has always been known for having the best park and pipe in North America, and now we up the ante. The huge new pipe will make its debut on national TV live on NBC during the Winter Dew Tour, Dec. 16-19, 2010 and will remain open the rest of the season, giving guests the chance to show off their skills on a world-class level!
