Kid Cudi Headlines Free Beach Concert at Dew Tour

Kid Cudi will perform a FREE concert on the Dew Tour’s music stage Saturday, July 23rd. The concert will be held on the beach just north of the Ocean City Pier as part of the Pantech Open, the first stop of the 2011 Dew Tour season. The four-day event – held July 21-24, 2011 in Ocean City, Md. – will feature competitions with the world’s best skateboarders and BMX riders.

Recognized as a game changer in modern hip hop, Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi made his way onto the scene using his dreams, nightmares and unique world views as inspiration. Cudi inked an album deal with Universal Motown and released the full-length “Man on the Moon: The End of Day.” The genre-bending concept album featured production from West, Emile, Plain Pat, RATATAT and MGMT and opened at #4 on the Billboard charts in September 2009. To date Cudi has sold over 4.6 million digital singles and earned critical acclaim for his cinematic lyricism.

2010 saw the rising star headlining sold-out festivals across the US while prepping his sophomore album, “Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Rager”, released in November 2010. The highly anticipated release featured Kanye West, Mary J. Blige and GLC, and included the first single “Erase Me”, which debuted at #22 on the Billboard’s Hot 100 list.

Fusing old school and new school sounds of hip hop, Green Label Sound artist The Cool Kids used word of mouth to gain national attention in 2008, when their Bakesale EP was one of the most buzzed about releases of that year. Their incredible live show has also garnered much attention, and in the last few years they’ve opened for such luminaries as Lil Wayne, MIA, Girl Talk. The Cool Kids’ highly anticipated debut album When Fish Ride Bicycles is being released on July 12th, 2011, and features guest appearances from notable artists including Pharrell Williams, Ghostface Killah, Bun B, Mayer Hawthorne, Asher Roth, and Travis Barker.

Also earning a spot on the Dew Tour music stage as the opener will be Dean’s List, the winning group from Whooznxt.com. The trio out of Boston, Mass. earned their spot through a successful social media outreach contest on the upstart music social site Whooznxt.com.
