Under the Gun: Pierre Luc Gagnon

For this installment of Under the Gun, we caught up with Pierre-Luc Gagnon to have him explain his lizard tattoo on his forearm.

The way that everything started is one of my friends – his name is Lizard King – we were hanging, having a few drinks, and he told me he really wanted to check out the Megaramp.

I was like, ‘Dude, hit me up tomorrow, I’ll call Bob. I’m sure he’s going to be down. I’ll drive you to Bob’s. I’ll set you up with a board, pads, everything, and we’ll get you to jump the Megaramp.’

So then the next morning I called him and was like, ‘Hey, you still want to do it? Be at my house by noon. We’re doing it!’

So he rolled up to my house at 12 and we took him to Bob’s ramp. He was so nervous that he started vomiting once he got there. The he was just like, “Alright, passion!” Then he went for it. And he tried it like 20 times and ended up making it. He rode away from the jump and stuff and pulled it off. He was super hyped and was like, “Oh my god, that’s amazing. That’s the gnarliest thing I’ve ever done.”

Then he was like, “I’m so hyped. Thanks for taking me there. I’m getting PLG tattooed on my wrist.”

I was just like, ‘OK, whatever Lizard. You’re hyped. You just had a few drinks right now. It’s probably the alcohol talking.’

Then he sends me a text like three days later, in the middle of the night. I was waking up to catch a super-early flight to get to China, and all it said was, I told you, Son. And it was a super ghetto tattoo on his wrist of PLG. It was kind of a jail style sort of tattoo.

I was like, ‘Oh my god, he really did it!’ I was like, ‘You’re crazy!’

Trasher Magazine has a feature on tattoos called Inked, and they featured his tattoo and he talked about me taking him to the Megaramp and everything. He said in the article that it would be serious passion if I would get a lizard tattoo.

So I was like, ‘Screw it, I’ll get a lizard tattoo.’ So I grabbed one of his first board graphics. The board graphic said Green Room, which is the crew from Salt Lake, him, Adam Dyet and those guys. Then I switched it up and I put Passion and then got like a board graphic tattooed, which is a lizard.

Then I sent him a text and was like, Check it out, Son. Passion.
