Kevin Rolland Leads the Charge in Men’s Freeski Pipe Prelims

Maintaining a high level of excitement throughout the contest, the Freeski Superpipe Prelims delivered high risks and even higher airs in Breckenridge’s new 22-foot pipe. Taking the top spot with his first run, Kevin Rolland came out hot, landing huge tricks including a double flip mute grab and an alley oop flat three critical, as well as a switch left 900 into a switch right seven and left 1260. In the very last run of the night, Justin Dorey pushed himself into the second place spot, with Thomas Krief coming through open qualifiers to finish third.

The top nine finishers from today’s preliminary round will join 2009-10 Dew Cup Champion Jossi Wells, as well as Simon Dumont and Xavier Bertoni, the three prequalified athletes based off of the 2009-10 Winter Dew Tour rankings, in the Freeski Superpipe Finals tomorrow, Saturday, December 18.
