Danny Davis & Other Olympic Hopefuls Conclude Global Camp at Mt. Hutt, Instagram Recap

Danny Davis and a crew of pro snowboarders from around the globe—including Torah Bright, Hannah Teter, Eiju and Ayumu Hirano, Ryo Aono, Kaitlyn Farrington and Queralt Castellet—just finished up a two-week training camp at Mount Hutt in New Zealand. Driven by their Olympic aspirations, the athletes personally financed the creation of the 22-foot halfpipe with backing from their respective sponsorsMountain Dew, Burton, Red Bull, Roxy, Nike, Adidas, and Monster Energy.

“It was a collaborative effort on so many levels, from the endless hours put in by the Snow Park Development crew, to the feedback from the riders involved, we all worked together to create the best halfpipe and overall experience for everyone,” says Davis. “Global Camp speaks true to what snowboarding is and should be, having fun with your friends, getting excited about the future of snowboarding and the community it creates.”

With the 2013/2014 competition season kicking off with Dew Tour Dec. 12-15 as an Olympic selection event, the Olympic hopefuls spent the days focused on progressing their pipe skills. But don’t worry, they also made sure to have some fun, because after all, isn’t that what snowboarding’s about?
