Remaining 2014 Dew Tour Dates, Locations Announced

The dates have been locked in, the new locations have been announced, so the time has come to plan your trip to one of the 2014 Dew Tour stops!

As previously announced, Dew Tour will kick the year off with the Beach Championships in Ocean City, MD with hosting the skateboarding and BMX industry staple events such as Vert, BMX Park, and Skateboard Bowl before hitting the road to include two new stops for 2014.

Making a long awaited return, Dew Tour will make its way to Portland, Ore. after a two-year hiatus and will be bringing the newly formed disicpline of streetstyle with it. Both skate and BMX will takeover a street in downtown Portland to bring new tricks and a style of riding that Portland has never seen.

Then, for the first time in Dew Tour history the compeition circuit will hit the big apple in order to host a second coming of skateboard and BMX streetstyle event in some of Brooklyn’s most iconic streets. In addition to taking to the streets, Dew Tour will fill out the House of Vans where it will host additional street competitions. Combining the raw, true to its roots competition that is streetstyle with the industry-wide reconized venue of the House of Vans for a street event all while being in the center of the country’s most vibrant music, art and youth scene in Brooklyn, NY — the 2014 Dew Tour is primed for success.

The final stop of the 2014 Dew Tour year will culminate once again in Breckenridge, Colo. where the world’s best will return to strap in and take on the hill in mid December to kick off their competition season.

The second stop of the 2014 season will take place August 16-17, in Portland, Ore., when the Dew Tour holds the first of two Toyota City Championships.  The Toyota City Championships in Portland will include BMX and skateboard streetstyle competitions, as well as a BMX dirt session.

The Toyota City Championships in Brooklyn will be held September 20-21, and will feature street and streetstyle events for both BMX and skateboard. The world famous House of Vans, in Brooklyn, will serve as the venue for the BMX and skateboard street competitions. The competitions will feature courses inspired by iconic NYC skate spots, and will provide athletes with the chance to showcase their creativity and technical skills in an authentic street event. Courses for the two Toyota City Championships streetstyle focused events will be designed and constructed by renowned California Rampworks. In addition, skate industry insiders Rob Meronek and Ryan Clements will serve as Sport Directors for the street and streetstyle events. They will work with the Dew Tour to determine the direction of the disciplines over the course of the year, from course design to on-site competitions.

The 2014 season will wrap up at Breckenridge Ski Resort, in Breckenridge, Colo., December 11-14, and will include some of the worlds most decorated action sports athletes and Winter Olympians.

“Based on the success and response to the streetstyle discipline we started two years ago, this year we have added an additional streetstyle competition,” said Eric Grilly, President, Alli Sports. “Taking the Dew Tour to Brooklyn and the House of Vans for the 10th Anniversary should make for an exciting event and broadcast on NBC. The Dew Tour continues to lead the industry with 28 hours of original action sports programming on NBC and NBCSN.”

“For a decade, Mountain Dew has been committed to advancing action sports through the Dew Tour,” said Greg Lyons, Vice President of Marketing, Mountain Dew. “We’re especially excited about adding the street skate competition in Brooklyn. There’s just a creative vibe in the Brooklyn skate scene that exists naturally, making it a draw for some of skate’s top talent.”
